The Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks a senior bioarcheologist (osteological specialist) to inventory all human skeletal remains that fall under the purview of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). This position will be responsible for performing documentation/analysis on NAGPRA osteology collections as needed, including inventorying, building a biological profile, estimating MNI, and assisting with reburial preparation if needed. Processing and cataloguing of all Native American human remains will be in accordance with policies and procedures established during the consultation processes and respect for and sensitivity to this type of work are imperative.
