Annual Meeting

The 66th Meeting of the Illinois Archaeological Survey will be held IN PERSON and hosted by the Illinois State Museum in Springfield, Illinois September 9-10, 2022. Join us Friday, September 9 at a welcome reception for new members 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Terra Ferment (204 S 6th St., Springfield, IL 62701). Beer, wine, and food provided! There is also an opportunity to tour the Research & Collections Center Friday afternoon from 1:30-2:30 p.m., prior to the IAS Board Meeting. Please RSVP to Brooke Morgan at brooke.morgan@illinois.gov by September 2 for the tour.

The annual business meeting of the IAS will be held Saturday, September 10, at 9:00 a.m. at the Illinois State Museum in the Thorne Deuel auditorium on the lower level and be followed immediately by a short award ceremony. Paper presentations will follow the business meeting and are open to the public and free of charge.

Papers on current research will be presented in the morning and more formal papers will be saved for Saturday afternoon. Please submit your paper or poster title and abstract to IAS President Mark Wagner at mjwagner@siu.eduThe deadline for submissions is Monday August 29, 2022.

Street parking is free in downtown Springfield but beware of time limits. There is a free visitor lot located west of the ISM on Edwards St. between College and Pasfield Streets.
