    ISAS is seeking to hire a Scientific Specialist, Archaeology.   The archaeologist will work in the statewide program office of the Illinois State Archaeological Survey's Transportation and Architecture Sections to coordinate  environmental survey information from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) or other state or federal agencies with ISAS archaeological and architectural projects for the purposes of (1) characterizing the research potential of said projects, (2) ensuring accurate and timely performance of archaeological and architectural projects, (3) completing archaeological and architectural compliance reports, and (4) assisting the IDOT Cultural Resources Unit in implementing a construction monitoring policy.  Position is based in Champaign, Illinois.

    The Texas Historical Commission’s Historic Sites Division has an opening for a Public Archeologist position in southeast Texas. Work involves overseeing the archeological and preservation planning for the historic Levi Jordan and Varner-Hogg Plantations; development and implementation of a Public Archeology program for the sites; coordinating and assisting with the processing and analysis of artifact collections; and reporting on the results of investigations at the sites.

    The Maryland Historical Trust, an agency of the Maryland Department of Planning, is seeking to hire a contractual Collections Assistant at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum (JPPM). Located on 560 scenic acres along the Patuxent River in Calvert County, Maryland, JPPM is home to over 67 archaeological sites, more than 30 historic buildings and structures, and the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory (MAC Lab). JPPM supports the preservation of Maryland's cultural resources and connects people to the past through the preservation and interpretation of our onsite historical and archaeological resources.

    The purpose of the position is to perform a variety of artifact collections management duties under the direction of the MAC Lab’s Curator of State Collections.

    SALARY: $18.17 - $20.23/hour

    The Cultural Resources Office in the Environmental Division of the Tennessee Department of Transportation has an opening for an Archaeologist at the Environmental Studies Specialist level. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits, and is located in Nashville, Tennessee.     The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is hiring an Archaeologist Coordinator in the Cultural Resources Branch of the Division of Environmental Analysis. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits, and will be located in KYTC's Central Office in Frankfort, Kentucky. Please note that the minimum qualifications for this position include a master's degree in anthropology, archaeology or cultural resource management (applied anthropology) or a related field, supplemented by one year of archaeology or anthropology experience concentrated in the United States. Applicants should be familiar with Section 106 and NEPA as well as pertinent state and federal laws regarding archaeology.
