    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is hiring an Archaeologist Coordinator in the Cultural Resources Branch of the Division of Environmental Analysis. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits, and will be located in KYTC's Central Office in Frankfort, Kentucky. Please note that the minimum qualifications for this position include a master's degree in anthropology, archaeology or cultural resource management (applied anthropology) or a related field, supplemented by one year of archaeology or anthropology experience concentrated in the United States. Applicants should be familiar with Section 106 and NEPA as well as pertinent state and federal laws regarding archaeology. A working knowledge of the archaeology of or experience working in the Ohio River Valley is preferred. Pay is commensurate with experience, within the range noted in the link below.     Kansas State University (K-State) in Manhattan, KS, seeks a qualified individual to serve as Archaeological Collections Manager and NAGPRA Coordinator in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work.  This person is responsible for the ethical stewardship of K-State’s anthropological collections in a culturally and archaeologically sensitive manner.  They will serve as the K-State liaison for consultation with key stakeholders and complete other duties pertaining to compliance with NAGPRA.

    Kansas State University (K-State) is accepting applications for an Archaeologist (Research Associate) to serve on K-State’s archaeology support team at Ft Riley, Kansas.  Duties include working with the team of two other archaeologists to perform archaeological surveys, site assessments, and site monitoring; conduct descriptive and interpretive analyses of archaeological data; and contribute to technical reports detailing all work in accordance to standards set by Ft. Riley and the Kansas SHPO.

    This full-time position does not require travel beyond the work station (Ft Riley), thus, allows a stable home base in the Manhattan-Ft Riley area.  This is also a benefits eligible position including a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid vacation, sick, and holiday leave.

    Applicants must hold a Masters’ degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field; have at least 24 months of relevant experience with archaeological field work; and prior experience with descriptive analysis of archaeological materials (ideally lithics and/or historical).  Preferred qualifications include knowledge of the culture history and experience with the archaeology of the central Great Plains, excellent writing skills, and prior contribution to technical reports of archaeological surveys and evaluations in a CRM environment.

    The Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS) seeks Archaeological Field Technicians to fill hourly field crew positions for large-scale Phase I, II, and III projects conducted out of our Central Illinois Field Station in Champaign. These are temporary (with potential of long term), full-time (40 hour/week), non-benefits-eligible, field/laboratory positions that may also involve some additional fieldwork, data processing, and specialized-analysis opportunities. Technicians will need to relocate to the Champaign area.  In-house training in ISAS methods is provided, and lodging and per diem are paid on out-of-town projects.
