    The Department of Sociology and Anthropology is seeking one full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology for the period August 16, 2023, to December 31, 2026. This is a 9-month academic year contract for 8 semesters and does not include summer employment. We are seeking a candidate to teach both undergraduate and graduate classes with an emphasis on historical archaeology. This is a 100% teaching position and the teaching load for a full-time visiting instructor is 4 classes per semester (courses with enrollments greater than 90 students count as two).

    The Department of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in Great Lakes/Midwest archaeology and archaeological field and lab methods, demonstrated scholarly productivity, and undergraduate teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have directed an archaeological field school or comparable field project, supervised student research in anthropology or a closely related field, and who have expertise in lithic analysis and/or CRM experience.
