    Minnesota Historical Society is seeking an experienced Head of Archaeology
    The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) is seeking an experienced Head of Archaeology who is skilled at overseeing large excavation and preservation projects with a collaborative approach at stewarding project resources and working with community partners. The incumbent coordinates archaeological field crews and project schedules, implements policies and procedures for archaeological field work, develops project budgets, schedules, and proposals which detail research goals, and field and laboratory methods and techniques.

    ISAS is seeking a Senior Architectural Archaeologist to oversee the documentation and evaluation of historic architectural resources (standing buildings and architectural remains encountered during archaeological investigations) for ISAS and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) in accordance with the rules and regulations of the national Historic Preservation Act (16 U.S.C. 470) and its implementing regulations (36 CFR 61, Appendix A) and the Illinois State Agency Historic Resources Preservation Act (20 ILCS 3420).     Beloit College seeks a Curator of the Logan Museum of Anthropology to begin June 2020. The Curator is responsible for overall management and preservation of the Logan Museum of Anthropology’s collections and coordinates the museum’s long-term exhibit schedule and outreach programs. The Curator works closely with the Director, faculty, and students to develop and maintain the museum as an excellent teaching and learning resource for the College and community. The Curator teaches in Museum Studies and supervises student work and research in the museum. The Curator reports to the Director.     The Tennessee Division of Archaeology is pleased to announce our new Archaeologist 2 position will post for application on November 6, 2019.  This application period will be open for two weeks.This position will be part of our Technical Assistance group that: (1) responds to requests for archaeological information from external and internal customers; (2) performs map and archival reviews; (3) conducts field reconnaissance surveys and test excavations; (4) responds to burial discovery calls; and (5) conducts research projects and presentations on Tennessee archaeology.

    Under the general supervision of the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), the Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer (DSHPO) manages program areas within the State Historic Preservation Office.  This position administers and supervises numerous preservation programs for the Division including, but not limited to the state and federal historic preservation tax credit programs; the administration of federal surveys and subgrants through the Certified Local Government program; the maintenance of the state’s Architecture and History Inventory (AHI); the National Register of Historic Places and the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places programming; and the award of grants through the Fuldner Heritage Fund.  This position supervises and manages permanent and LTE staff of the State Historic Preservation Office at the Wisconsin Historical Society.  This position directs, coordinates, prepares, and promotes research related to Wisconsin’s historic properties.


    The position also independently reviews federal, state, and local actions for effects on historic resources in accordance with the federal and state laws and regulations established under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and ss. 44.39-42 and ss. 66.0413, 66.1111. and 120.12(21) Wis. Stats.
