    The Department of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in Great Lakes/Midwest archaeology and archaeological field and lab methods, demonstrated scholarly productivity, and undergraduate teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have directed an archaeological field school or comparable field project, supervised student research in anthropology or a closely related field, and who have expertise in lithic analysis and/or CRM experience.

    ISAS is seeking to hire a Scientific Specialist, Archaeology.   The archaeologist will work in the statewide program office of the Illinois State Archaeological Survey's Transportation and Architecture Sections to coordinate  environmental survey information from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) or other state or federal agencies with ISAS archaeological and architectural projects for the purposes of (1) characterizing the research potential of said projects, (2) ensuring accurate and timely performance of archaeological and architectural projects, (3) completing archaeological and architectural compliance reports, and (4) assisting the IDOT Cultural Resources Unit in implementing a construction monitoring policy.  Position is based in Champaign, Illinois.

    The Texas Historical Commission’s Historic Sites Division has an opening for a Public Archeologist position in southeast Texas. Work involves overseeing the archeological and preservation planning for the historic Levi Jordan and Varner-Hogg Plantations; development and implementation of a Public Archeology program for the sites; coordinating and assisting with the processing and analysis of artifact collections; and reporting on the results of investigations at the sites.
